PhD in Visual Sociology at Goldsmiths College, University of London (since 2010). Alexandra attended Engineering Environment (FCT-UNL, 1991-1995), but changes of studies area and she graduated in Anthropology (ISCTE, 2002) with a master in Urban Anthropology (ISCTE, 2009).
Since 2005 integrates researcher teams in ICS. She is member of CRIA – Center Research Network in Anthropology since 2008, having previously collaborated with CEAS, ISCTE.
Her current research focuses on transformations and uses of water fronts in port cities, post-industrial context. At the same time, by experimenting with qualitative methods that defy the conventional boundaries between art and science, seeks to develop alternative forms of representation of the contemporary socio-anthropological knowledge.
