    Paulo Granjo

    Researcher -

    PhD in Social Anthropology (ISCTE, 2001), he mainly studies the conceptions and social answers to uncertainty, danger and technology, in contexts of cultural and social change. In order to do so, he currently develops researches in Portugal and Mozambique, in fields such as the industry, the healing and divinatory practices, the learning processes or the family laws and practices.

     

    Together with is activity as researcher, he is Visiting Professor at Eduardo Mondlane University, Maputo (Ba in Anthropology), and teaches in the Instituto de Ciências Sociais (master in Social and Cultural Anthropology) and in the Faculdade de Letras (Ba in Performative Arts) of Lisbon University.

     

    He is the author of several books and articles, presented in the item 'publicações', and a member of the Centro de Estudos de Antropologia Social (ISCTE), of the Centro de Estudos Africanos (ISCTE), of the Associação Portuguesa da Antropologia, and of the European Association of Social Anthropologists. He recently received the status of Honorary Member of AMETRAMO (Mozambican Association of Healers).

     

    He had been Scientific Coordinator of CASO-Centro de Análise Social (1994/2001), Auxiliary Professor of Universidade Lusófona (2000/2003) and Associate Research Fellow of ICS-UL 2002/2004).
