José is graduated in Sociology by ISCTE-IUL. He is also master of Communication, Cultural and New Information Technologies by the same Institute. PhD Social Sciences, specialty sociology at Institute of Social Sciences of Lisbon University, with the thesis “Sanitation: social factors in the failure of a delayed policy. The case of Lis”.

 Since 1998 Jose belongs the team of OBSERVA Program – Observatory of Environment and Society at Institute of Social Sciences of Lisbon University. He also collaborated in different projects, highlighting the environmental information disclosure platform Ecoline – Know More, Change Better (http://ecoline.ics.ul.pt).
