Luisa Schmidt is senior researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon (ICS-UL), currently dedicated to two main areas of research: Sociology of Communication and Sociology of the Environment, where she obtained his doctorate. At ICS-UL she coordinates the Research Line "Sustainability: Environment, Risk and Space".
Part of the research team that created and built in 1996 NOTES - Permanent Observatory of Environment, Society and Public Opinion, which develops several research projects that articulate the social sciences and the environment. Coordinates the working group within UNESCO for the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014).
Among his most recent publications include the books: "Setting the screen - issues and layoffs in the public broadcasting service", Social Science Press, 2003, "Local Authorities and Sustainable Development - Local Agenda 21 and new environmental strategies," Ed .
